Description
39" Roosterfish Full Mount
This 39" Roosterfish full mount, which we call a two sided wall mount, is extremely realistic with the skin texture that was captured during the molding process. Roosterfish are commonly caught in Central and South America along shorelines and rock structure. Their muscular body makes them the perfect gamefish as they fight extremely hard. They are easily identified by their long dorsal comb that runs along their back behind the head.
Our Roosterfish fish replica full mounts are anatomically correct fish mounts that are intended to be displayed on the wall. The backside of the fish mount that is touching the wall or not viewable is actually painted black. These two sided wall mounts are not intended to be hung from the ceiling.
Roosterfish Mount Painting Schedule
All of our two sided
Roosterfish full mounts
are made of fiberglass for a lifetime of enjoyment and are hand crafted to represent the fish you caught or to showcase the fishes alive and lit up look as if it was swimming in the ocean. If you are purchasing a Roosterfish fish replica to commemorate a catch, we encourage you to send a picture of your catch. We custom paint our Roosterfish full mounts and we even custom paint our eyes to give a realistic look to your new trophy. Our production team even takes the time to notch out rips and tears that your Roosterfish photo might have.
With all our full mounts we encourage our customers to send in a picture of their catch so we can paint and replicate to match that fish. Without a picture our normal process is to paint a standard olive green to iridescent blue on their backs with silver sides and long sweeping black markings from back curving down toward tail. The dorsal comb can range from completely black to include yellowish, brown or green streaks. The final step is to clear coat the Roosterfish replica with a UV Protectant Urethane clear coat allowing you to hang it indoors or outside.
We do offer an outdoor bracket for installation in areas that might have high wind or potential to get bumped.
Roosterfish Replica Shipping Process
Once you place your order, our packaging team will carefully package this fish mount to ensure a safe journey from us to you. We are proud to boast a less than 1% damage rate but should for any reason this fish mount arrive to you less that 100% perfect, please let us know right away and we will remedy the situation accordingly. The majority of the roosterfish mounts will ship regular ground shipping but the largest roosterfish replicas have to be crated and then shipped on a freight truck. Over the years we have developed the perfect crating system that provides enough protection to provide a safe transit from our place to yours without having to create a solid plywood framed crated which would be extremely heavy and extremely expensive to ship. Instead our crating system utilizes 1x4 furring strips with angle braces and 2 ply cardboard which delivers a lightweight crate with superior protection. Please contact our experienced team ahead of placing your order if you would like to obtain a rate quote to see the cost of shipping prior to your purchase.
Roosterfish Mount Installation Process
Our easy to hang bracket arrives already attached to the backside, balance point of this fish mount. After removing this fish mount from the packaging, hold up the fish mount up on the wall where you would like it to live and then mark the spot where the hanger is on the wall. Then drill in a screw or hammer in a nail and the bracket will easily hang on the nail or screw head. The easy level bracket also allows you to display your new roosterfish replica on the wall at pretty much any angle. The bracket has 5 sawtooth groves that the nail or screw head in the wall can hang on, creating a different balance point which allows you to point the head up toward the ceiling or down toward the floor, depending on which groove the head is in. We also offer an outdoor bracket for installation in areas that might have high wind or potential to get bumped.

More About Roosterfish:
Some people consider the roosterfish as the ultimate light tackle game fish. They are very aggressive eaters and have extreme fighting power. Shaped extremely similar to a Amberjack their long flanks make for powerful runs that rip line off an anglers reel. They obviously make for beautiful catch photos with their longs sweeping dorsal fins, which we call combs, coming off their backs. Luckily for them they are not very tasty fish so its extremely common and understand to release these beautiful fish as they have no real table fair. The world record weight on this species is 114lbs caught in Mexico in 1960. The large majority of Roosterfish that are caught are done so in Central America, specifically in Panama and Costa Rica however the fish can be caught all the weigh from Southern Pacific side of South America up to Baja California. Average size fish in Central America range from 30-50lbs and some big bully bruisers can get up to 80lbs. These larger fish will wear you out with fights lasting hours. Roosterfish like to feed on smaller bait fish like mullet, sardines, runners and smaller tunas. A common way to catch these fish are to use poppers that replicate a fish pushing water on the surface. These fish are often caught in the surf and over sandy bottoms but are most commonly caught around rocky areas and above shallow reef structure. Scientists believe they are not a migratory species and do not travel for than a few hundred miles in their lifetime from where they were born.
