49" Kingfish Half Mount

This kingfish fish mount is part of our half sided series. A half sided mount is produced by casting the front part of our two sided wall mount molds. When displayed the circumference of the half mount is either touching the wall or very close to the wall. This process cuts labor and supplies cost and therefore results in a lower price point however the skin texture and finishing process is the same as a traditional full mount. Kingfish Mount Paint Schedule

Kingfish, or King Mackerel, are a highly sought after recreational and commercial fish. They are known for their lighting fast bites and are normally fished for with live baits slow trolled behind the boat. Kingfish are normally blueish green on their backs blending to a silvery gold side with intricate marks and iridescent colors mixed throughout. Like other fish, kingfish can have many different variations of coloring however our standard paint job includes the above mentioned features. The final step of the finishing process is to spray a UV protecting clear coat to give it superior protection indoors or outside. We do not custom paint our half sided series replicas.

I ordered this mount after catching one on a trip out of South Fla. The charter service quoted me a price of $800, so when I found you could make a replica for $180, I was sold. My fish arrived promptly, and in fine shape. It looks great on the wall in my cave, would definitely order again in the future.

I prefer the one sided mount for light weight and ease of hanging. Most of my 15 fish mounts are in the open on the veranda. They fare well and retain good color. They get an occasional brush with a swifter and twice a damp wipe down. The shipping packaging is good with no damage on receipt.
